A fourth suspect has been arrested in connection with a string of hotel robberies targeting sex-trade workers in the Greater Toronto Area.

Police previously said the robberies happened between Oct. 25 and Dec. 9.

In all five incidents, police said a female victim was contacted by a suspect who posed as a potential client. An arrangement was made for the escort and the suspect to meet at a Toronto-area hotel, but when the victim opened the door, she was attacked by a group of people. The victim’s room was also ransacked.

In the most recent incident on Dec. 9, police say a 22-year-old escort was sexually assaulted by two men.

"She was forced naked and forced into sex acts by two of the suspects," Staff Insp. Mike Earl previously told reporters during a press conference.

Three suspects, including a 17-year-old girl, have already been arrested in connection with the robberies. On Monday, police say a fourth suspect has also been arrested.

Paul Williams, 21, of Toronto is facing multiple charges including eight counts of robbery, six counts of forcible confinement and gang sexual assault. He appeared in court on Tuesday.

Police are still searching for two suspects, a man and a woman.
