An Etobicoke skating rink was evacuated as a precaution following an ammonia leak at a nearby City of Toronto office building Tuesday evening.
Toronto Fire say Park Lawn Rink, located on Park Lawn Road, north of The Queensway, was evacuated following a major ammonia leak.
A stretch of Park Lawn Road, north of Berry Road, was also temporarily closed in both directions as crews worked to stop the leak. It was stopped shortly after 7:30 p.m.
Officials say the ammonia room in a public building located near the rink was filled with gas.
A man who was sprayed with ammonia after a compressor may have broken was transported to hospital. Police say his injuries are not considered serious.
