A 13-year-old girl in Toronto's north end made a frightening discovery this morning, when she awoke and found a naked intruder underneath her bed.

The girl screamed and the man fled, reportedly leaving his clothes behind.

Police are now searching for a suspect, but could only describe him as a black male in his 20s, about five foot seven, with a slim build.

The incident happened around the Don Mills Road and Sheppard Avenue East area.

Neighbour Jaclyn Robertson said she was "frozen in terror" when she heard the girl's screamsn around 5:30 a.m.

"I heard this running sound. I didn't know what it was," she told CTV Toronto. "And then I heard this screaming and I was just locked in my bed, I couldn't move."

Her mother, Beryl Robertson, also heard the sound.

"It was a shrill like you've never heard," she said. "It wasn't a scream for a scream, but one where you're scared or hurt."

Police would reveal few details about the incident, but did say the girl was not harmed.

There are report the suspect left his clothes behind when he fled, but Sgt. John Theriault of 33 Division would only say police have recovered evidence.
