TORONTO - A woman was taken to a Toronto hospital with serious, non-life-threatening injuries after being hit by a car Monday night.

Police say the 23-year-old was struck while crossing Glencairn Avenue, just west of Avenue Road.

Investigators say the woman had walked between some stopped eastbound vehicles before she was hit.

Police issued a warning last week after 16 pedestrians were hit by vehicles over a two-day period, leading to one death.
