Peel Regional Police say a female employee of a Brampton bar was taken to hospital this morning after she was hit with what appeared to be a bottle.

It happened at around 3:40 a.m. at 52nd Street Tap & Grill, located near Kennedy Road and Queen Street.

According to police, the woman, who is believed to be in her 40s, tried to break up an altercation at the bar when she was hit with some sort of object.

She was taken to hospital in non-life-threatening condition, paramedics say.

Investigators are currently reviewing security video from the bar.

No suspect information has been released at this time.
