UPDATE: Documents obtained by CTV News Toronto show the charges against Lia Genest Matte were withdrawn in November 2019.

Toronto police say they have made an arrest after a woman working as an escort was confined in her apartment during an armed robbery.

Police say the incident happened on July 7 inside an apartment near The Queensway and Windermere Avenue.

According to police, the woman was working as an escort in her apartment with another woman when a man entered the room. The woman told police the man held a knife to her throat and used duct-tape to prevent her from escaping.

Police say $55,000 dollars of jewelry, clothing and accessories were stolen in the robbery.

Lia Genest Matte, 22, and Gaensly Dazulme, 29, who are both from Quebec, have been charged with armed robbery, forcible confinement and possession of a weapon. Dazulme was also charged with disguise with intent.
