A 61-year-old woman's body was discovered inside a dry cleaning business in north Scarborough Monday afternoon.

Police were called to Top A Cleaners at 3430 Finch Ave. East at around 12:45 p.m. after the woman was found unconscious and bleeding profusely.

Bike courier Gary Carmichael made the discovery.

"I just saw blood on the floor and a person in the corner," he told CTV Toronto's Jim Junkin. "I just saw her lifeless arm."

Emergency crews rushed to the scene, but there was little they could do.

The woman, who witnesses identified as the co-owner of the business, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The dry cleaning business has reportedly been open for a number of years and is owned by a husband and wife.

Workers and customers at the plaza described the woman as kind and well-liked.

Police speculated that robbery may have been the motive for the killing, but they have not confirmed that possibility.

Officers are currently trying to locate the victim's husband. No arrests have been made and the woman's name hasn't been formally released.
