A 32-year-old woman has been charged after a man was stabbed and robbed of his cellphone.

Toronto police say a female suspect was talking to a 25-year-old man early Thursday morning when she asked to use his cellphone.

Once he handed over his phone, police say the accused pulled out a utility knife and began stabbing the man in the neck.

He suffered non life-threatening injuries in the attack.

The suspect then grabbed the man's phone and ran away from the scene, according to police.

Authorities say the man ran after the suspect and held her until police arrived on scene.

Toronto resident Lan Thi Le faces robbery and assault charges.

The suspect made a court appearance at Old City Hall late Thursday morning.
