Police have charged a 21-year-old woman with second-degree murder after a man died in an underground parking garage in the city's north end late Friday night.

The charges were laid Sunday morning, nearly two days after emergency crews found a man suffering from serious wounds in an underground garage on Ridley Boulevard, near Avenue Road and Wilson Avenue.

According to police, officers responded to a call for unknown trouble in a third-floor unit of the building at 262 Ridley Blvd.

Paramedics were also called to the building where they found the man suffering from wounds to his chest.

Jason Paglia, 28, died at the scene.

His death was a result of "trauma to the body," said a Toronto Police Services spokesperson.

Police did not provide additional details about the suspect charged in the homicide investigation but various reports identified her as Paglia's girlfriend who lived in the building.

Kaila Dupuis was charged with second degree murder.

She was remanded in custody until her next court appearance on Dec. 8.

This is the city's 44th homicide of 2011.
