Fireworks light up the city to celebrate Canada Day every year.

Weather-permitting, people around the GTA can catch displays this year at multiple locations to celebrate Canada’s 148th birthday.

Just a reminder, it is illegal for members of the public to set off or sell their own fireworks in any Toronto park.

Ashbridges Bay Park

Canada’s birthday is celebrated every year with fireworks on the Beach at Ashbridge’s Bay Park. The park is located at the foot of Coxwell Avenue, on Lake Shore Boulevard East. The Toronto Transit Commission is stepping up service for the evening to help deliver crowds to the park.

Mel Lastman Square

Celebrate Canada's 148th birthday with a fun-filled evening of live music and dance performances, family activities and a fireworks show choreographed to music.

Fireworks in East York

A day of activities and entertainment concludes with an evening fireworks display that has been a long tradition in East York.

Milliken Park

A free fireworks display will be put on at Milliken Park in Scarborough.

Toronto Ribfest

After a week of grilling and eating, Ribfest will wrap up with a pyrotechnics display.

Canada’s Wonderland

Canada's Wonderland will present its fireworks display when the Park closes. Canada’s Wonderland boasts “some of the best fireworks in the Toronto area.” They say the show will have a unique design with an original sound track with over 6,000 colourful explosions.

Canada Day in Markham

The sky in Markham will light up with fireworks July 1. Celebrate Canada's birthday with a “dazzling display of light, colour and sound.” There will be no public parking at Milne Park, but free parking will be provided at Markville Mall. Shuttle buses will run between to the mall and the park.

Kinsmen Park, Pickering

This event advertises family fun for Canada day at the Kinsmen Park from 12 p.m. to dusk. There will be jumping castles, family stage, breakdancing and graffiti demos, food, music, refreshment tent (for those 19 plus) and more. Main stage begins at 7 p.m., followed by fireworks.

Another option if you live in Pickering -- you can gather for a BBQ, games and fireworks at The Bridge Church in Pickering.
