TORONTO - Toronto police are investigating a shooting and several stabbings overnight.
A man in his 30s was taken to hospital after being shot outside the Island Sunset Restaurant in the city's east end just before 2:30 a.m.
Emergency Medical Services said the victim had surgery and is expected to recover but there's no word on a motive or if there are any suspects.
A 21-year-old man was stabbed in the back around 2:45 a.m. inside a nightclub called Lot 332 in the city's downtown entertainment district.
He was taken to hospital and is also expected to survive.
Shortly after, there were reports of several more stabbings related to the original attack in the same area. But there were no serious injuries in those incidents.
