One of two victims from a Tuesday night shooting in North York has died.

The incident occurred about 8 p.m. near a home on Cather Crescent, about 400 metres east-southeast of the Yorkdale Shopping Centre. The homes are part of a community housing project.

One man suffered a gunshot wound to his shoulder. That person, who was 36, was treated in hospital and released.

The second victim, a 24-year-old male, had suffered multiple gunshot wounds to the head. He died Wednesday afternoon at Sunnybrook Hospital.

Toronto Police have not yet released a description of any suspects. However, they say the 36-year-old is co-operating with their investigation.

There had been a shooting in the same neighbourhood on Monday evening, but police don't know if the two incidents are linked.

Area residents didn't want to comment Wednesday on the gun death. Most were too scared to appear on camera, saying they didn't want to jeopardize the safety of themselves or their families.
