TORONTO - A Vancouver-based security company says it has been awarded the security screening contract for the G8 and G20 meetings in Huntsville, Ont., and Toronto.

Contemporary Security Canada has announced it is now hiring an expected 1,100 workers for the summits at the end of June.

The company says wages will range from $20 to $24 an hour.

Contemporary Security Canada says it specializes in world class security screening for large-scale events.

Most recently, the company provided security screening for the Vancouver 2010 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games.
