A woman and a man were both injured after two separate shootings on Tuesday in the Jane and Finch area.

Toronto police said the man, who is in his 40s, was shot in the chest and leg on Marsh Grass Way, near Jane Street and Finch Avenue, at about 11:30 p.m.

The incident took place after what may have been an argument between two groups of men in the yard of a complex of buildings.

The man was shot at point-blank range but is expected to survive and is being treated at Sunnybrook hospital.

At about 3 p.m. on Tuesday shots were also fired into a car travelling on Gosford Boulevard, which is on Jane Street, south of Steeles, police say.

A woman was struck in the leg. Her injuries are minor and there are no suspects in the case, according to police.

It is not believed these incidents are related.
