Toronto police have named two suspects wanted in connection with the murder of a French teacher who was found suffocated to death earlier this week.

Police have named two Mexican nationals -- 23-year-old Juan Antonio Reyes and 19-year-old Ana Laura Rodrigues -- as the prime suspects in this case. They are both wanted for first-degree murder in the death of 44-year-old Consuelo "Connie" Valencia-Russo.

Investigators told reporters at a news conference Saturday afternoon that footage from a security camera overlooking 2645 Jane St. lead police to issue the arrest warrants.

Valencia-Russo had been reported missing for two days when her body was found inside the trunk of her 2009 Toyota Corolla in the Jane Street and Sheppard Avenue area on Thursday at around 6:30 p.m.

The car was parked in a lot of a building where Valencia-Russo lived about a decade ago.

The woman was last seen on July 7 at around 8:30 a.m. in the Grandravine Drive and Sentinel Road area. She told her family she was going for a hair appointment but she never arrived. She was reported missing later that day after failing to pick up her 14-year-old son as she had previously arranged to do.

There are reports that police discovered her credit card had been used in Canada on Wednesday and then in Mexico on Thursday.

The father of her son is Toronto City Councillor Cesar Palacio. The two had a brief relationship about 15 years ago.
