Downtown drivers should keep in mind two events that may slow down their plans on Friday evening.

Because of the Toronto Criterium bike races, several streets will be will be closed off for much of Friday evening.

Cyclists will be racing around Scott Street, Front Street East, Market Street and The Esplanade until 11 p.m.

Scott and Market Streets will be fully closed for the duration of the race, as will The Esplanade.

Front Street East will be closed to eastbound traffic between Scott and Jarvis Streets, as will Church Street between Front Street East and The Esplanade.

Traffic may also be tight at the start and finish of the Blue Jays game on Friday night.

Fans will be flocking to the Rogers Centre for a 7:15 p.m. game start, when the team will try to avoid losing a 10th straight game.
