KAWARTHA LAKES, Ont. - Two children are dead and three people are in hospital after an accident near the City of Kawartha Lakes, Ont.
Police say a pickup and car collided on Highway 7 just west of Elm Tree Road on Sunday afternoon.
The man driving the pickup was taken to Ross Memorial Hospital in Lindsay with undetermined injuries.
The woman driving the car and a female passenger suffered life-threatening injuries and were taken by air ambulance to Sunnybrook Hospital in Toronto.
One of the children in the car died at the scene and the other was pronounced dead at Ross Memorial Hospital.
