FORT ERIE, Ont. - Two bodies were found inside a vehicle that was pulled from the Niagara River in Fort Erie, Ont., on Sunday.

Niagara regional police were called Saturday morning and say it appeared a vehicle may have gone into the water after failing to stop at a stop sign.

The vehicle was located Saturday afternoon about 200 metres from a boat ramp that had been severly damaged near the Niagara River Parkway and Netherby Road.

It took until Sunday to remove the vehicle from the water.

The identities of the victims have not been released.

Detectives and a collision reconstruction team are investigating.
