Two bodies have been pulled from a submerged car near Kingston, Ont., police said Tuesday.

However, initial published reports indicated four bodies were at the scene. Kingston police refused to explain the discrepancy, saying they would provide an update in the morning.

It took a dive team more than two hours to retrieve the bodies.

Investigators have not identified the victims, nor have they said whether foul play was involved.

The vehicle was found submerged in about five metres of water in Kingston Mills Locks, near the city. It has now been removed from the area.
