The driver of a cement truck remains in critical condition after his rig overturned on Highway 427 on Wednesday.

All southbound lanes of the highway at Dixon Road were closed after a vehicle collided with the cement truck causing wet concrete to spill across the highway.

The truck driver, 34, was airlifted to Sunnybrook Medical Centre with serious injuries.

The OPP report a woman driving a Volkswagen Jetta attempted to make a lane change, over corrected when someone else was in the lane and lost control of her car, crashing into the cement truck.

The driver of the car sustained minor injuries and two passengers in the vehicle were unharmed.

The highway, including access ramps to Pearson International Airport, was closed for several hours in order for cement sweepers to clean up the area.
