Transit woes continue into the weekend for GTA commuters
It has been a tough week for transit riders in the GTA.
Following the service disruptions on Monday and Wednesday, Line 1 (Yonge-University) will be closed between York Mills and St Clair stations though this weekend due to planned track work.
Meanwhile, service between St Clair and Sheppard-Yonge stations will resume regular operations from 6 a.m. on Saturday after closing at 11 p.m. this week for track work, the TTC said in a service alert on Friday.
That is not all.
GO Transit's Stouffville Line will be temporarily closed this weekend to accommodate critical track work. GO buses will replace the train service and run express to and from Union Station bus terminal.
GO bus route 71E will travel to Union Station Bus Terminal, Unionville, Centennial, Markham, and Mount Joy GO stations, and GO bus route 71C to Union Station Bus Terminal, Unionville, Centennial, Markham, Mount Joy, Stouffville, and Old Elm GO stations.
The stops will be limited to at Old Elm, Stouffville, Mount Joy, Markham, Centennial, and Unionville GO stations.
Commuters travelling to or from Milliken, Agincourt and Kennedy GO stations are asked to use the TTC instead.
However, commuters are advised to keep an eye out for schedule changes.
