GO Trains were forced to bypass Eglinton GO Station Wednesday night as police investigated a stabbing in Toronto's east end that left an 18-year-old man with non-life-threatening injuries.

The stabbing happened at approximately 6 p.m. in the Bellamy Road North and Eglinton Avenue East area, near the Eglinton GO Station. Toronto EMS says the victim suffered multiple stab wounds. His injuries are believed to be non-life-threatening.

Service at the Eglinton GO station was suspended at approximately 6:45 p.m., and resumed Thursday morning.

After the stabbing, GO Transit also advised that a "few" customers who have parked their vehicles at the Eglinton GO Station lot will not have access to their vehicles until police had concluded their investigation.

GO Transit said affected customers would be given rides to their destination on Transit Safety Personnel that had been deployed at the Eglinton GO Station.
