Toronto police are investigating a series of daytime home invasions that took place from Aug. 10 to 14.

Police say the first home invasion occurred Friday Aug. 10 at 10 a.m. near Yonge Street and Sheppard Avenue.

Two days later, the second home invasion took place in the Highway 401 and Neilson Road area at 3 p.m.

The third home invasion occurred on Aug. 14 at 1:30 p.m. in the Eglinton Avenue East and Markham Road area

In the first home invasion, a 49-year-old woman and her 47-year-old husband were home when two males, described as white and dressed in blue overalls, knocked on the door and indicated they were from a gas company.

Toronto police Staff Insp. Mike Earl says the two males were let inside.

Once in the home, the males pulled out a firearm and a Taser. They used the taser and tied up the husband and wife while they ransacked the home for cash and jewelry.

The two males fled with jewelry, cash and the couple’s 2010 grey BMW X3, which is still missing.

The victims in this home invasion were not injured but were left tied up for a significant amount of time until Toronto police arrived.

Police say the second home invasion took place in the Sheppard Avenue and Neilson Road area on Aug. 12 at 3 p.m.

Two males described as white, in their 30s, one taller with a slimmer build and the other shorter with a heavier build entered the home through a patio door. The two males were wearing masks to conceal their faces.

In Sunday’s incident, a three-year-old child and her parents were home when two men entered the residence.

All three of the individuals were bound by phone or computer cords. The mother and father had duct tape placed over their mouths.

Toronto police say the suspects threatened to kill the toddler if they did not comply. The suspects also demanded to have their yellow jewelry.

The third robbery happened Aug 14. at 1:30 p.m. in a high rise building in the Eglinton Avenue East and Markham Road area.

Two men entered the premises with a bump key while a grandmother and her son were home. No weapons were scene, but the suspects tied up the occupants of the home - similar to the incidents before.

Toronto police say the two males spent an hour ransacking the home for jewelry.

Earl says Toronto police are concerned because these invasions happened in the same week, during the day and all while people were home.

Toronto police warn the public to get proper identification before letting individuals into their homes.

They are also asking the public’s help in identifying the suspects.
