Three men have been charged in connection with the murder of a man who was allegedly assaulted, then run over by a vehicle more than four years ago in downtown Toronto, police said Friday.

In the early hours of Oct. 18, 2009, 27-year-old Christopher Skinner of Toronto was killed after being struck by a vehicle near Adelaide and Victoria Streets.

The new charges come just a week after police charged 23-year-old Agustin Alexander Caruso with second-degree murder in the case.

Toronto police say that Jamaal Phillips Bond, 23, is charged with assault causing bodily harm and obstructing police. Anthony Samuel, 24, is charged with conspiracy to commit aggravated assault and obstructing police. Nicholas Swaby, 23, is charged with assault causing bodily harm.

Police say that the morning Skinner died he was attempting to hail a cab when he may have inadvertently come into contact with a passing vehicle

It is alleged he was confronted by some of the occupants of a black SUV, assaulted and kicked to the ground.

The occupants returned to the SUV, and then proceeded to drive over Skinner before leaving the scene.

The arrests followed a fresh plea for information from investigators about a month ago, when they released new details from their investigation, including a new image of the SUV.

Police offered a $50,000 reward for information leading to the identification, arrest and conviction of those responsible for Skinner's death. As well, Skinner's family offered an additional $100,000 reward.
