TORONTO - A Toronto man is facing 161 charges after police say he allegedly broke into more than 50 cars.

Between March 27 and August 30, police say 54 vehicles were broken into in a neighbourhood in north Toronto and items were stolen from them.

After executing two search warrants in the area, police say they arrested a 46-year-old man.

Randy Pottinger is facing charges that include theft over $5,000, theft under $5,000, mischief under $5,000 and multiple counts of failure to comply with probation.

Police say he was also wanted on three outstanding warrants.

Police believe there may be more victims and are asking anyone with information to contact them.
