TORONTO -- A Toronto man is facing several charges, including impaired driving causing death, after a multi-vehicle collision in the city's east end.

Police say a 37-year-old cyclist was killed Saturday when an SUV failed to stop at a red light and struck the bike, which was on a crosswalk (on Kennedy Road near Highway 401).

Police say the SUV -- a 1999 Dodge Durango -- continued into the intersection and hit five other vehicles before stopping.

The cyclist was taken to hospital where he died of his injuries.

Alvaro David, 46, faces seven charges including failing to stop, dangerous operation causing death and several charges related to impaired driving.
