TORONTO -- A Toronto man is facing a series of charges in connection with a shooting in the city's east end that left another man wounded.
Police say officers responded to a call (in the Dawes Road and Victoria Park Avenue area) on Nov. 11 and found a 19-year-man suffering from gunshot wounds to the abdomen.
The man was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Police say a 20-year-old man was arrested Tuesday in Niagara Region.
Dwayne Vernal faces nine charges including attempted murder, unauthorized possession of a firearm, aggravated assault and carrying a concealed weapon.
He was scheduled for a court appearance in Toronto's College Park Courts on Wednesday.
