TORONTO - Police say a downed power lines spotted by a Toronto Hydro employee while driving to work led officers to a $1 million marijuana grow-op.

A Toronto Hydro emergency service truck was sent to the Warden Avenue residence and the occupant fled after a brief conversation with the hydro employees.

The hydro workers found that the hydro meter had been bypassed and called police investigate.

Officers say they found a large hydroponic grow operation throughout the home and seized 1,460 healthy marijuana plants.

More than 2 1/2 kilograms of harvested and packaged marijuana was also found in the house.
