OSHAWA, Ont. - A Toronto-area man is charged with luring after police say he tried to arrange a meeting with an officer posing as a teen girl online.

Police say the arrest came Wednesday following a two-month investigation in which officers presented themselves as a 14-year-old girl on the Internet.

They say officers made plans to meet the accused that night at a plaza in Oshawa, east of Toronto, and chased him down when he ran away.

Investigators say they also seized eight computers and several storage devices from his home in nearby Whitby.

John Haylock Jr., 22, is charged with six counts of luring.

Police allege he has several profiles on social media, under the screen names Jr Ryder, John Racer, and Jr Racer.
