Three men arrested for a brutal stabbing murder in the city's east-end over the weekend now face second-degree murder charges, Toronto police said Tuesday.

Two suspects surrendered to authorities Monday while a police investigation into the murder of 35-year-old Russell Hoffman led to the arrest of a third man.

Autopsy results show Hoffman died after being stabbed in the upper torso. He was found badly injured early Sunday morning, at 12:19 a.m. by police responding to an emergency 911 call in the Pharmacy and Denton Avenues area.

Hoffman later died in hospital from his injuries.

After his death, police named two of the suspects publicly, announcing they had a search warrant for the men. They warned the public that anyone protecting the identity or location of the men would be dealt with accordingly.

The next day, the arrests were made.

Baran Yilmaz, 18; Alfredo Dix, 19; and Bartosz Prusakiewicz, also 19; have all been charged with second-degree murder. They were expected to appear in court Tuesday.

Hoffman is Toronto's 54th homicide of the year.
