Peel Region homicide detectives have arrested three people in connection with the murder of Toronto restaurateur George Koutroubis.

The 36-year-old was found dead inside his SUV in Brampton on Feb. 22.

Koutroubis, who police say was known to facilitate sports bets, was the co-owner of Six Steps Restaurant and Lounge, an upscale eatery in downtown Toronto.

His body was found a week after his family reported him missing and just days after he was supposed to leave on his honeymoon with his wife of two months.

Koutroubis was last heard from on Feb. 17, when he called a friend and said he was in Whitby to meet a business associate.

Investigators believe Koutroubis was beaten to death at another location before being driven to a parking lot at 210 Steeles Avenue West in Brampton.

On Friday, police arrested 43-year-old Andrew Campbell of Whitby, who will be charged with first degree murder.

Police have also arrested 40-year-old Meryl Morgan of Whitby, who will be charged with accessory after the fact to murder.

A 17-year-old youth, who cannot be named, is also to be charged with accessory after the fact to murder.

The three will appear in court in Brampton on Saturday and will then be remanded in custody.
