Toronto police have arrested and charged three men in relation to gang sexual assaults against four women and have issued nationwide warrants for three more male suspects.

The Toronto Police Sex Crimes Unit alleges that six men participated in gang sexual assaults against four women between fall 2009 and February 2010.

"The four victims are known to the six men through a Korean community church," Det. Boyd Li told CTV Toronto on Thursday.

One person came forward, and that triggered the investigation, he said.

Warrants have been issued for Jin Hyun Kim, 33, Yoon Hyun Cho, 26 and Jung Jay Lee, 26, all of Toronto.

Police have charged:

  • Hyung Jun Ha, 26, with five counts of gang sexual assault, four counts of forcible confinement, four counts of threatening death, four counts of administer drug for sex, making child pornography and assault.
  • Jong Il Lee, 33, six counts of Forcible Confinement, seven counts of threatening death, six counts of administer drug for sex, seven counts of gang sexual assault, two counts of Assault, making child pornography and overcome resistance: choking.
  • Sang Cheol Lee, 37. five counts of gang sexual assault, four counts of forcible confinement, four counts of threatening death, four counts of administer drug for sex, making child pornography, and assault.

They will be appearing in court Friday for a bail hearing.
