Police have laid charges against three people and seized a gun after a robbery in Etobicoke last night.

The incident occurred at about 11:30 p.m. A man flagged down a police cruiser, claiming he had been robbed at gunpoint near Lake Shore Boulevard and Royal York Road.

After the man pointed officers in the direction of the suspect, police said a foot pursuit ensued.

Officers later arrested the suspect and seized a gun. Police said the man had to be restrained before he was arrested

Soon after, police said, officers went to investigate a residence on Norris Crescent.

Police said officers then put the neighbourhood in "lockdown," evacuated part of a building and arrested two other suspects.

There were no injuries reported.

Although police did not say that shots were fired, Toronto police const. Tony Vella said officers had heard a number of "loud bangs".

Police have charged an 18-year-old man and two young offenders with assault, forcible confinement, robbery with a firearm and unauthorized possession of a firearm.
