A 15-year-old boy was stabbed Tuesday night outside a Mississauga elementary school.

Earlier Tuesday, police said the victim had life-threatening injuries. But his condition has since improved, and he is being treated at SickKids Hospital in Toronto.

Around 5:15 p.m., Peel Regional Police were called to St. Gertrude Catholic School, at 815 Ceremonial Drive, where they found the victim in the parking lot suffering from a stab wound, Const. Samantha Nulle told ctvtoronto.ca late Tuesday night.

No one was in the school at the time of the incident, and Nulle said the stabbing was "not related" to the school.

She could not say what led to the stabbing, but said investigators are speaking to witnesses to piece together what happened.

Nulle said police are seeking three suspects whom she described as black males in their teens. She said they fled the scene on bicycles and rode northbound on Ceremonial Dr.
