Police are looking for a suspect after a Toronto teen was squirted with syrup and then sexual assaulted at a store on Friday.

Police said the 13-year-old girl was waiting in a checkout line at a Dollarama in the Dufferin Street and Eglinton Avenue West area around 3 p.m. when a male in his late 30s to early 40s approached her from behind. Police allege he sprayed her with table syrup and then assaulted her after pretending to help clean up.

At a time of the year when people are shopping for back-to-school supplies, parents, after learning of the incident, say they are very concerned.

"That would be not much older than my daughter actually so I'm pretty surprised," Vincent Momaliti told CTV Toronto.

Police describe the suspect as male, white, 5-feet-7 inches tall, a bald or a shaved head with black and white hair. Police said he was wearing a white t-shirt, loose navy blue cargo shorts and black shoes at the time.
