A teenaged driver has been charged with stunt driving and dangerous driving after being caught driving 240 km/h on Highway 407 in Vaughan on Monday night.

Vince Lisi, 18, was pulled over by Ontario Provincial Police after racing through a speed trap on the highway near Pine Valley Drive at approximately 10:30 p.m.

The Kleinburg, Ont. teenager was charged with dangerous operation of a motor vehicle, stunt driving and failure to surrender a driver's licence.

In addition to the charges, Lisi's black Nissan GT-R was impounded for seven days and his licence was also suspended for a week.

Anyone caught driving more than 50 km/h about the speed limit is automatically given six demerit points and a week-long licence suspension. He may also face a fine of up to $10,000.

Lisi will appear in criminal court in Newmarket, Ont. on Friday, May 30.
