Police in Halton region have charged an 18-year-old man with murder after another teen was stabbed to death at a house party over the weekend.

Authorities charged the young man hours after taking him into custody.

The murder took place early Saturday morning in Burlington at a house party on Prospect Street. Three people, all under the age of 18, were stabbed when they got into a fight with another group. The two groups did not know each other prior to the fight, police said.

One of the stabbing victims was pronounced dead at the scene.

"The exact extent of what occurred between these groups is currently under investigation," says the news release.

Hamilton resident Bradley Todorovich has been charged with one count of second-degree murder, one count of attempted murder and one count of assault with a weapon.

He appeared in court on Sunday afternoon but the Justice of the Peace issued a publication ban on the proceedings.
