TORONTO - The Teamsters Canada union has struck a new contract deal with the company that operates and services Go Transit trains and equipment in southern Ontario.

The union said Friday the three-year deal applies to about 350 shop trade workers, crew dispatchers and onboard operating crews on the Go Transit trains.

The workers are employed by Bombardier Canada Inc., a unit of Montreal-based aircraft and rail giant Bombardier Inc. (TSX:BBD.B)

Provincial government-owned Go Transit operates a commuter network linking Toronto and surrounding communities to other parts of southern and central Ontario.

Details of the new contract were not revealed pending a ratification vote by the workers.

The Teamsters Canada Rail Conference represents more than 10,000 workers in the transportation industry.

The group is part of the International Brotherhood of Teamsters, with 1.4 million members in North America, including 125,000 in Canada.

In Friday trading on the TSX, Bombardier B shares rose six cents to $6.95.
