UXBRIDGE, Ont. - A high school teacher in Uxbridge, Ont., has been charged with sexual exploitation of a student.

Police say they were contacted by officials at the school northeast of Toronto after learning of an inappropriate relationship between a teacher and a 17-year-old girl who attended the school.

It is alleged the 29-year-old male teacher befriended a student and entered into an inappropriate relationship in the past two months.

None of the alleged incidents occurred on school property.

Christopher Sager, 29, of Markham, Ont., was charged today with sexual exploitation.

He was released on condition he cease all communication with the alleged victim and remain out of Durham region except for court appearances.
