An off-duty Toronto police officer has been charged with impaired driving following an incident early Friday morning.
Police said the accused was driving north on Victoria Park at about 3 a.m. when he entered the intersection at Consumers Road and came to a complete stop at the green light.
A bystander approached the vehicle and called police.
Charged is Const. Adam Lourenco, a 31-year-old officer who has been with the force for six years.
He is scheduled to appear at the Eglinton Avenue courts on June 20.
