Toronto police have released the photo of a man they are seeking in connection with an assault on a five-month-old boy.

The call came in about 3 p.m. Sunday, police said Thursday in a news release.

They described the boy's injuries as life-threatening. The boy is in critical condition at the Hospital for Sick Children.

Police say they are seeking Ronnie Munoz-Hernandez, 21, of Toronto on a charge of aggravated assault.

Munoz-Hernandez is described as white, 5'1", 140 lbs. with black hair and brown eyes. He speaks English with a hispanic accent.

Detectives say he is not a blood relative of the child. However, Munoz-Hernandez did live in the same neighbourhood. They believe he might be trying to flee Toronto by posing as his older brother David.

People with information are asked to call 12 Division at 416-808-1200, Crime Stoppers anonymous at 416-222-TIPS (8477) or online at www.222tips.com. They can also text to TOR plus message to CRIMES (274637).

No allegations against Munoz-Hernandez have been proven in a court of law.
