A Toronto man believed to be connected with a fatal shooting during an all-night art event earlier this month may have left the city for Halifax, police said on Friday.
Police say Darnell St. Clair Wright, 22, left Toronto and is heading east toward the Halifax area.
He is believed to be driving a 2012 four-door, grey Hyundai Sonata with Ontario licence plate BMDZ 171.
Wright, also known as Darnell Grant, is wanted on one count of first-degree murder.
Jefflin Beals, a 25-year-old from Dartmouth, Nova Scotia, was killed in Toronto's Trinity Bellwoods Park on the morning of Oct. 2, 2010
Police found an empty black vehicle ridded with bullets at about 3 a.m., and later found Beals nearby suffering from a single gunshot wound to the chest.
Beals was transported to a local hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead.
An art installation for the annual Scotiabank Nuit Blanche, an overnight art event, was running in the nearby Trinity Bellwoods Park at the time, but police haven't connected the shooting to the event.
Wright is described as brown, 5-foot 10 and 180 lbs. with black hair. He may have facial hair and also has a number of tattoos on his body and neck.
Police believe the suspect is armed and dangerous and ask anyone who may see him to contact 9-1-1.
