This weekend marks the soggy return of winter-like weather in parts of southern Ontario as temperatures hover near the freezing mark, bringing with it a mix of flurries and wet snow.
According to Environment Canada, there’s a 60 per cent chance of flurries for a number of cities including Toronto, London, Hamilton and Peterborough.
In Toronto, Saturday’s high is expected to reach 4 C as westerly winds gust up to 50 km/h. Overnight, the mercury is predicted to dip even lower to -4 C.
The unseasonably cold weather is expected to improve by Sunday when temperatures are expected to reach a high of 6 C, Environment Canada predicts. And by Monday, temperatures are forecasted to climb even higher to a spring-like 14 C.
Just north of the GTA, in Parry Sound, up to 4 cm of snow is expected to fall on Saturday with westerly winds gusting up to 50 km/h. Environment Canada predicts it will drop to a chilly -10 C by the evening.
