An Oshawa teen stabbed to death before dozens of his horrified peers will be buried on Monday.

Visitations for Mike McDonald, 16, will be held Saturday, from 6 to 8 p.m. and Sunday, from 2 to 4 p.m. and from 6 to 8 p.m.

The funeral will be held at Westminster United Church in Whitby at noon on Monday.

The teen football player, known to his friends as Biggy, got into a fight on Tuesday with someone with whom he had a mutually antagonistic relationship.

However, things turned deadly when the suspect allegedly pulled out a knife and stabbed McDonald as they battled near a bus stop, mortally wounding him. Police arrested the suspect a short time later.

On Wednesday, Jacques Amakon, 18, of Oshawa made a brief court appearance. The same day, students at Monsignor Paul Dwyer Catholic High School held an impromptu memorial service on the football field to honour McDonald.

No allegations against Amakon have been proven in a court of law.
