BURLINGTON, Ont. - Six people are facing a number of drug-related charges following an 18-month police investigation in the Hamilton area.

Halton Regional Police say the charges follow early morning raids on five homes -- one in Hamilton, one in Ancaster and three in Burlington.

Police allege six people with ties to an organized drug distribution ring were arrested and a "significant amount'' of cocaine, marijuana and ecstasy was seized.

Adrian Monrad, 26, his girlfriend Trina Vella, 21, his brother Jason Monrad, 30, and Jason Monrad's girlfriend Tammy Messier, 26, are facing a number of drug-related charges, including possession for the purpose of trafficking

Peter Vuong, 21, and Phong Trieu Dien, 30, are also facing drug charges for allegedly supplying the others with the narcotics.

Five of the six suspects are to appear in Milton court on Thursday, while Messier has been released and is expected back in court Nov. 27.
