BARRIE, Ont. - The Special Investigations Unit has been called in to probe a police chase in Barrie, Ont., that resulted in a death.
An officer tried to stop a car on Tuesday afternoon but the 15-year-old driver failed to stop and a pursuit was initiated.
Soon after, the car crashed into a Honda Civic, and a 48-year-old Barrie man driving the Honda died of his injuries in hospital.
The teenage driver was treated in hospital for minor injuries and is facing several charges.
The victim's name has not been released.
The SIU, which investigates all police activities which result in death or serious injury, is seeking witnesses to the crash.
