A severe thunderstorm watch has been issued for Toronto Sunday.
Environment Canada says thunder could start clouding over the city by Sunday evening. The storm is capable of producing hail and damaging winds with gusts up to 100 kilometres an hour.
"A disturbance crossing the lower Great Lakes is generating a few rounds of strong to potentially severe thunderstorms" says a warning on Environment Canada's website. "These are expected to affect most of southern Ontario later this afternoon into this evening."
The watch has been extended to the Greater Toronto Area as the weather disturbance heads east towards Pickering and Oshawa.
The storm is expected to weaken by Sunday night.
