OSHAWA, Ont. - A man from Oshawa, Ont., is facing charges after several men came forward alleging sexual abuse by a scout leader almost 40 years ago.

A number of men reported to Durham Regional Police that a scout leader inappropriately touched them between 1975 and 1985.

Police are urging potential victims to contact them.

In addition to being a former leader with the 20th Scouting Troop of Oshawa, police say the man held various leadership roles in amateur sports in the community.

Stanley Mark Brown, 64, is charged with five counts each of gross indecency and indecent assault on a male as well as two counts of sexual assault.

Police say Scouts Canada co-operated with their investigation.
