Toronto police are trying to locate a man who they believe was abducted at gunpoint in the city's east end.

Furqan Muhammad-Haroon, 22, was driving his van near Midwest Road and Midland Avenue Saturday at 3:30 p.m., when three men forced him to pull off the road.

One of the men was wielding a gun, police said in a news release.

Police say they located the missing man's green 2003 Mazda MPV van shortly afterwards but stopped short of saying where exactly the car was found.

A cousin of Muhammad-Haroon called police and reported the man missing, police told ctvtoronto.ca. The officer would not say how the missing man's cousin knew about the chain of events.

The victim is described as brown, five foot ten, with black eyes and short wavy black hair, He has a beard but no moustache and wears glasses. Muhammad-Haroon has not been in trouble with police before, the officer said.
