Police are searching for a suspect after a violent carjacking in Glen Park on Saturday.

Just after 5 p.m., police said a suspect crashed a green Ford Focus near Playfair and Marianfield Avenues, got out and pointed a gun at people who approached to help him.

One witness told CP24 he heard the suspect loudly yelling ‘stay where you are.’

According to police, the suspect then carjacked a woman’s Dodge Caravan at gunpoint.

Officers arrived at the scene and searched the area. The suspect is believed to be armed with a sawed-off shotgun, police said.

Police said the suspect is described as a skinny black male in his 20s. He was described as having dreadlocks and wearing a red Blue Jays Bautista jersey.

The licence plate of the Dodge Caravan is BVYP 766.

Police urge anyone with information on the suspect to dial 911 and to not approach him.
